Our purpose

The North Canterbury Embroiderers' Guild (NCEG) is affiliated to the Association of New Zealand Embroiderers' Guilds Inc (ANZEG) and was formed to cater to the growing number of textile art enthusiasts in the North Canterbury Region.

Our Guild promotes the learning, practice and research of traditional and contemporary embroidery and lace making, preserving valued techniques and designs while encouraging creativity and innovation.

We believe stitching is more than a craft, it is a shared practice that supports wellbeing, friendship and connection.

Through learning together, creating together and supporting one another, we build a welcoming community for stitchers of all ages and stages.
